Sometimes Things Just Don't Work Out!

Oh well. Plans don't always work out, and we have had our share of unworkable plans lately. First, Paige got a new stackable washer and dryer and gave us her old ones to put at the lake. I really hate having to pack towels, linens, clothes and such every weekend to go to the lake, so we thought that it would be great to have a washer and dryer so we could just get in the car and go. But, alas, the washer and dryer are just a few inches too big for the space...so, we just left the washer at the lake and brought the dryer back home. Now we are on the lookout for a 27 inch dryer.

Next plan was to go on a camping trip for the first time in over a year. We haven't even dewinterized our camper in two years. So, we search for a campground and decide to go to Columbus-Belmont State Park in Western Kentucky. So we excitedly start to get things together and dewinterize and plug in the camper to check everything. Low and behold the toilet has a leak and a new part must be ordered....so no camping trip for us this weekend.

And so it goes.......

Another Day

Sarah enjoyed watching her brother have his Egg Toast. After eating all his egg toast, he ate a donut.

Then Sarah decided it was time for her breakfast....Aaron didn't watch her eat.
They are bonding...slowly but surely. Yesterday Aaron actually patted Sarah on the back thru the bars of her baby bed. Today they played trains together.
But Sarah's train went very, very fast around the corner and wrecked. She was not happy

Aaron decided that since it was a sunny day that he needed to wash his car. He did an excellent job.

The many cute faces of Sarah:

Aaron got new skeetchers with headlights and Emily the Train. He was very pleased.

And a few shots of the Diva!

They're Heeerrrreee!

The Grandkids have arrived! They are so sweet. We are going to have so much fun! I have a few pics of the first days events. Unfortunately, my camera battery is very low, so this may be the last of the pics.
We started the day with a breakfast of Egg Toast. Aaron seemed to like it. You just never know what he will like from one trip to the next. The last time he was here I had bought some little boxes of chocolate milk which Aaron had called "ew, gross". This trip he has loved them and drank 3 at one sitting.

He had ravioli for lunch and a piece of ice cream cake for dessert. Dinner was chicken rings and home fries

Sarah had her usual breakfast, lunch and dinner...a formula bottle..a breast milk bottle...., her diet is pretty bland, but it puts a sweet smile on her face.

breakfast

Dinner
After dinner she decided that she had better do her "exercise" Gotta keep that model figure in shape!

Before it warmed up enough to go outside Aaron spent some time coloring Thomas the Train of course.

Aaron drove his electic truck all around the yard for a long time. Well, he doesn't actually drive it, he rides it and we run beside and turn the steering wheel for him. He got very tired and at one point we had to run beside him to make sure he didn't go to sleep and fall out. So after he ate dinner, he was still very tired. I asked him if he wanted to stroll around in the house. Just a few laps was all it took. He actually went to bed at 6:30 pm for the night!

Getting Ready for the Grandkids!

Aaron and Sarah are coming to spend about 5 days with us, so we have been busy getting everything ready for them. First we had to turn the Toddler Bed back into a Baby Bed. The bedding isn't very girlish, but it is all I had on hand.

Next we got the rocking chair off the back porch and cleaned it up and brought it in because Sarah likes movement.

Then I got out the playpen and cleaned it up real good.

And I am getting ready for Aaron too. I made him a Thomas the Train pillow.

I found a really cute Thomas the Train beach towel for Aaron.

Only a few days until they get here. I can't wait!

Fun Weekend with the Kids

Thursday night we went to stay at the lake. Friday morning we got up bright and early and headed to Berea to babysit. We had a good day, but I got worried when Sarah would not take a bottle from me, especially since we are going to keep them for several days while Paige and Robert are in Denver. When we left Berea we took Aaron with us. He is at such a fun age. He had fun playing two new games. The first involved falling off the hassock while saying "be very careful"

Then he figured out that if you throw a ball up the steps it comes back to you He really enjoyed this.

Aaron thought that the new dock looked like a bridge. He called it "Poppy's Bridge" That is what it will called henceforth.

Cleaning out the fire pit, get out the marshmellows!

On Saturday, Paige, Robert and Sarah came to visit. We had a good visit. I was finally able to get Sarah to take a bottle. So I am very relieved about that. Robert had to show me the technique that she likes. It almost involves dancing! Sarah had on her yachting outfit, but decided to stay indoors. But she had some really sweet smiles!

And finally, most kids watch cartoons on Saturday morning. Aaron watched Catholic Television. He loves it.

It was a great weekend!
