Children Can Sure Make You Smile

Well, it won't be long until Santa comes and the kids are so excited. Aaron gets so excited talking about Santa that he almost dances. Sarah isn't that wild about Santa, and just wants presents...Christmas and birthday for our sweet Christmas Eve baby!

Sarah is particularly good at rearranging the ornaments. She wants to get them just right!

Aaron wanted his picture taken too. He wouldn't put a shirt on, so I guess this is a VERY informal picture at the Christmas tree!

They are so sweet together, she watched and mimics everything he does.

Christmas morning is sure going to be fun around my house! I am almost as excited as Aaron.

Christmas Blessings and a very Happy New Year to all!!!!!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!!

Snow, snow and more snow. It is really pretty, but very cold. Unfortunately, this cold weather makes me hungry! I can eat all day long in weather like this. Today I made a blueberry cobbler...nothing like warm cobbler on a cold day; unfortunately, I didn't have any ice cream to eat with it...but, I didn't let that keep me from eating more than I should have.

Gene loves to play in the snow....here he is getting the snow off the boat cover. He measured 6 1/2 inches on top of the camper, so we have a pretty good snow.

The Stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

I had planned on embroidering names on the stockings, but wasn't having a whole lot of luck, so I decided that since Aaron is the only one that can read, I would just put their pictures on their stockings so that they will know which one is theirs. My printer doesn't work too good, but they will do.I took the folks back home Friday, but I don't know how long they will be able to stay over there. Mother just kept saying she wanted to go home and looked so sad. So, today is her birthday. I called her to tell her happy birthday and asked if anyone had called and she said "I guess they don't know where I am" and I said "mother, they know that you are home now" and she said "Well, I'm not at home, I'm at this other house"...............Sheesh

Kash is Visiting!

Chuck has to work over the Christmas holiday, so we are celebrating early with them. Daddy and Mother have spent a few days at my sisters' house and they love being around Kash. He is a doll and very alert considering he is just a month old!
We are trying to decide whether or not to let mother and daddy go home, or to keep them over here. It is a hard decision. Alzheimer's is such a horrible disease...........

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a good, uneventful Thanksgiving Day!
The family was all gatherered around the table!

The weather was beautiful and the kids got to play outside!

We blew bubbles and watched them go "high in the sky"

I rolled Aaron around in the yard in the tube! It was great fun!

Sarah and GPop!

All in all it was a great day!

Busy Day!

Well, yesterday was an absolutely wasted day. Gene was sick with the stomach virus and I was in bed with a headache. Today is better. Gene is on the mend; still not great, but much better. He was able to eat a bowl of soup today. I am fine today, thank goodness.

We are getting new carpet today! It's about time. The other carpet has been down in the family room for over 20 years. I wanted to change it before the holidays, so that all of my family that has allergies might do better. I changed the color from blue to beige, so the room looks a lot different! It is hard to get pictures of carpet colors, but here goes....

All done, only damage was to my pocket :)

Thanksgiving Dinner

I should have just picked my turkey from the ones in the driveway!

What's for Dinner?

Last night we were watching Paula Deen and she made a dish that sounded so good that I just had to make it tonight. It was bacon cheddar grits with grilled pork chops. It was so good, we were stuffed after we finished. Of course, since I love grits, I guess this was a no-brainer!

Gene sure seemed to love it!

Today was also a day for spending money.....first I had to go pay all of the property taxes.. never a fun thing...then I went and bought some new carpet for the family room and I tried to buy a new dish washer, but the store owner was never in the store when I stopped by. Then I went to the grocery store and spent some more money; then I had to make a little stop by the crafts store to get a new embroidery to work on. I am sure getting a lot of needlework done, since Mom and Dad go to bed by 7:00 pm. I try to be quiet, so I put on my headphones and listen to an audio book and work on my needle work projects.

Close Encounter

At 2:00 am I heard a noise outside. I got up and looked out the window on the door and it was a Black Bear...a really BIG Black Bear. He was in the garbage. I watched him for a while (he was about 3 feet from me) and then i made a noise and he started walking off. He stopped for a moment on a little hill about 20 feet from me and was silhouetted against a beautiful sky; it was wonderful. So I ran to get my camera, and must have scared him off, because he was gone when I got back. It was awesome.

Here is what we woke up to this morning.....
I took this thru the screen, but you get the idea!

I hate cold weather!

I hate traveling in the winter...this is how the mountain looked on my way over here today.

I also hate winter clothes. It is so nice to just be able to throw on a pair of capri's, t-shirt and flip flops. I hate wearing long pants, socks and coats.

Listening to my audio books, sure makes the trip go faster and keeps me from thinking about what lies ahead....On the trip today I really wanted to ride around for about 30 more minutes so I could finish my book, but decided to come on to the house.

I sure hope the bears stay out of the trash this weekend. I really get tired of cleaning up the yard after them, they drag the trash everywhere.

Welcome Kash Brandon McKnight

After a very long day of labor, Kash finally arrived. 7lbs 7oz. The labor was tough and the cord was wrapped around his neck, but he and his mother are both fine.

Gotta love the smile on the new dad!

Happy Halloween!

Gene is in Illinois enjoying Halloween with the grandkids! He is spending time with Mario, Luigi and the Princess!

This is Aaron and his best friend Jake

Princess Sarah, minus the gummy bear vitamin that has been lodged in her nose for a month.

I am living in Halloween Hell in Benham. Daddy is mad and wants to go home (he is home) and is threatening to call the police on me. This has been going on for hours. I have tried every tactic I have read about to get this off his mind, but he won't quit fussing! Mother also thinks that she should go home. Wants me to call her brother to come and get her! I wish I was in "THE HOME"! And to add salt to the wound, I have a viral infection and have to wear this mask in the house with the elderly parents. Hard to breath, hard to sleep with this on my face!

Any Day Now!

Well, anyday now my nephew, Chuck, will be a daddy for the first time. I am ready, just need to know the day!
