We need an Ark!

It has rained and rained and rained. Our dock has been totally underwater. We have never seen the lake this high!

Yesterday we went to Berea to visit Paige and her children. We had a great time.

The row boat was full of water. The trolling motor and battery were underwater.

Fun Weekend at the Lake

We had a fun weekend at the lake. It didn't start out that way, because when we arrived the gutter had fallen off on to the deck Just half of it fell, so Gene had to pull it the rest of the way down. The guttering was supposed to be replaced a month ago, but the men didn't show up. We are currently trying to find someone else to put up the new gutters. So, we spent Friday cleaning that mess and cutting the grass. We did get a little fishing in, but it was very windy and we only caught 2 crappie and a bass. All were too small to keep.
On Saturday, Paige and her family came to the lake. A little later Paula Jo and her family came to the house. They have a new pontoon and this was their first time out in it. We cooked out and had a great time.

Paige, Sarah, Gene, Bobby and Trevor just a taking it easy.

Paula Jo and Austin getting their fishing equipment all lined out.
Trenton Paul and Aaron doing some serious fishing.
Hey Trenton, getting any bites?

Paula Jo....ready for lunch

Austin intently fishing off "poppy's bridge"

Sarah played in her exersaucer for the first time. She liked it, but only for a short time. Her favorite thing is being held.

Gene, Robert and Aaron took the row boat for a ride. Aaron wanted to dangle his foot overboard.
It was a great weekend!

Our Sweet Baby has been Very, Very Sick

Sarah has been very sick. Her pediatrician sent her via ambulance from Berea to UK. She has RSV and spent Tuesday afternoon until Thursday night in Children's Hospital at the University of Kentucky. She had to have an IV for extra fluids because she was dehydrated. They had a terrible time setting the IV and I felt so sorry for her, she was a real trooper. They finally got the Flight Crew nurses to set the IV in her head. She was very sick and it was very scary. Thankfully, she is on the mend. She went back for a check-up today and still has a little fluid in one lung, but is much better.

Even though she was very sick, she had a smile for everyone. She is such a sweet baby. We love her very, very much.

Cousins!

Aaron loves Aunt Bobbie Jo's "farm". Aunt Bobbie Jo has a "bulldozer" which he loves.

Actually it is a tractor with a back hoe, but Aaron insists it is a bulldozer

Trevor is an old hand on the "bulldozer" He wasn't as excited about it as Aaron was.

Aaron and Trenton Paul decided to go fishing in the creek. They had a great time and ended up very wet!

They said that they caught a real big fish!

I love this picture. Little boys can sure have a lot of fun playing in water!

Sarah just wanted to hang out with Aunt Bobbie Jo.

Sometimes Things Just Don't Work Out!

Oh well. Plans don't always work out, and we have had our share of unworkable plans lately. First, Paige got a new stackable washer and dryer and gave us her old ones to put at the lake. I really hate having to pack towels, linens, clothes and such every weekend to go to the lake, so we thought that it would be great to have a washer and dryer so we could just get in the car and go. But, alas, the washer and dryer are just a few inches too big for the space...so, we just left the washer at the lake and brought the dryer back home. Now we are on the lookout for a 27 inch dryer.

Next plan was to go on a camping trip for the first time in over a year. We haven't even dewinterized our camper in two years. So, we search for a campground and decide to go to Columbus-Belmont State Park in Western Kentucky. So we excitedly start to get things together and dewinterize and plug in the camper to check everything. Low and behold the toilet has a leak and a new part must be ordered....so no camping trip for us this weekend.

And so it goes.......
