Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my daughter-in-law! I hope she had a great day.

We had a little snow overnight. It is so pretty. I took a few pictures from the inside looking out. I may brave the elements and get outside and take some pictures later.

Gene decided to go outside and sweep the snow off the boat cover.

Dimentia

It is a horrible condition. I currently have my daddy at my house. My mother is at my sisters' house. Daddy had a dimentia episode last night and it scared my mother, so we had to go and get them this morning. When we got to their house this morning, he was just as fine as frog's hair; didn't remember anything about his episode. Their caregivers had spent the night with them. He wants to be in his home, but certainly can't stay there alone...he is a good house guest....just wants to be in his own home...we don't know what we will do. Fortunately, we had the snow to use as our excuse for coming to get them. Life just has some rough times; but we will get through it..we have no choice.

Ok, so today it is almost 50 degrees and the weather channel says that tomorrow we are going to have 5-8 inches of snow! It is just hard to believe. Oh well, tomorrow is my day off so if we do get the snow I will just read or sew or maybe I will just lay in the tanning bed and dream of being on the beach...................................................................
MAYBE NOT!

RV Show

Today we went to Knoxville to the RV show. We love to go to the shows to see all of the new models. We were supposed to go yesterday, but I had ANOTHER headache. Anyway, we got there about 11:00 am. It was pretty crowded, but we just took our time and enjoyed it. We found some really good deals on a few 5th wheels that we liked and one travel trailer. We aren't in the market right now for a camper; it is just too hard for us to get away much since I am working and we have the lake cabin and feel like we should use it. I would love to have another little popup to take on some weekend trips, but I just can't justify buying one right now. But, someday we hope to be able to buy a new camper and travel for months at a time. I just hope that "someday" will come and we will still be healthy enough to travel. But, who knows what the future holds....who wants to know..not me.

Also, I have been diligently watching "Lily" the black bear on wildearth.tv. They have a webcam in her den and she had her baby yesterday. Of course, she had it while I was in the bed with a headache, so I missed it; but I got to watch it on a replay. I was so surprised to hear the baby when it was born, it cried like a human baby...for some reason I thought it would growl or something. Anyway, you can see all sorts of wild life on this site and I enjoy watching the animals in a natural habitat.

We finally got our upstairs furnace repaired and it is a good thing, because now one of the downstairs furnaces has died.....always something!

How I spent MLK day

My brother-in-law's son is getting married in a few weeks. They are going to Hawaii on their honeymoon. My sister and I made suckers for their reception. It took the whole day and we were totally exhausted but finished them and they turned out really good. Congrats Brandy and Chase!
They will all be wrapped in clear bags and tied with tropical strings and my daughter-in-law is making cute tags! Thanks for your help Lindsay!

What a Day!

The furnace at my parents house was repaired yesterday and they were chomping at the bit to go home. So, I got up early and went to McDonalds to get them some breakfast and stopped at the donut shop to get them and their neighbor their favorite donuts. I came home and got them dressed, packed and ready to go. The whole time daddy kept asking where I was; he didn't recognize me at all. I loaded them in the car and daddy started complaining about my driving before I was out of the driveway. After a brief stop at the pharmacy to get daddy some medicine, off we go. Every 2 minutes mother would say "I have never seen so much fog". I said "It's snow Mother"..same conversation for 100 miles. Daddy in the back seat asking where I was and complaining about my speed (45 mph) and asking if I knew the way to his house. We get to the house and he still isn't very happy and fussed and fussed. I ran to the pharmacy to get mother a prescription and then to the grocery to get them some groceries they can fix and off I go. Next stop is the nursing home to visit my aunt. She still had up her Christmas tree, so I load it and a bunch of other junk that she had into my car. We had a phone line put in for her, and the nursing home bought her a phone....a cordless phone that is way to complicated for her to work and they had hung it over her bed and it kept falling on her. I moved one of her tables over by her bed and put the phone on the table and wrote out the directions for using the phone. She couldn't see the numbers on the phone so I went to my car and found some old reading glasses. We practiced making a few calls, but we are going to have to get her a wired phone and new glasses for her. So, she was happier when I left than when I got there (she always cries on me). So, I leave the nursing home and head back over the mountain and home......what a day.
