I just spent 24 hours at my parents' house. As usual it was a whirlwind of cooking and cleaning. I tried to cook enough to feed them for several days, but they don't tend to eat unless you put it in front of them. I colored mothers hair and fixed it. I took them to Church last night. They really like going to Church, but seldom make it. They can never figure out what time it starts, etc...Alzheimers and Dementia are such horrible illnesses.
Oh Marijane, My heart aches with you. Your Moma has that far-away look in her eyes, and you can't fix it. ....Try to remember when THEY COULD TEACH YOU something, or when THEY answered your questions of "Why Mommie?"or "Why Daddy?". Remember their vibrant days. That helps....sometimes.
