Rough Week
Wednesday I woke up with a nasty headache. I had planned on running to Benham and checking on the folks but stayed in bed. That is until noon, when I got a call that Daddy had fallen. His caretaker was headed to the Dr. with him, who decided to send him on for a CT scan at the ER. So, up I get and off to Harlan I go. We spent ALL day at the hospital, but he checked out fine so we went home. His back was hurting, so I went to the drug store and got him a brace. By Thursday, he seemed fine, so I came home Thursday night. Friday he woke up with his back killing him, and he wasn't talking very good and was having mobility issues. We were in the London Walmart and got the call that his Dr. thought that he should go back to the ER in case there was internal bleeding from the bump to his head from the fall. So, I leave a full buggy in the Walmart (sorry walmart) and head to Harlan again. They took a lot of x-rays and ran more test, but all came back good. The Dr. thinks that he must have sprained the muscles in his back when he fell. So, we are at the hospital until 8 pm. and then we just brought them home with us. He is still in a lot of back pain, this could be a long painful road for him. With his dementia he doesn't handle pain at all and it sure adds to his confusion. One day at a time.
